SANDABAND ®

Sandaband is an innovative and patented technology used for maintaining Well integrity on new and existing wells during all phases of the well from drilling, production and finally abandonment.

Main applications for Sandaband are:

Sandaband as a lost circulation material (LCM) during drilling of new wells.

Reinstate well integrity if Sustained Casing Pressure problems, by filling Sandaband in the annulus.

Substitution of cement as fill behind casing

Permanent and /or Temporary abandonment of exploration wells

Sandaband is developed in Norway, and it consists of concentrated sand made into a pumpable slurry with water and brines.

Sandaband has a particle fraction in excess of 75% by volume. The particle size distribution controls the rheology, permeability and porosity of the slurry.

Sandaband characteristics:

• Behaves as a true Bingham Plastic material
• It is pumped like a liquid, sets up like a “solid mass” when in place, but without becoming rigid
• Sandaband is non polluting and chemically inactive.
